Chopper Twirls Wildly into Palm Fronds at Popular California Coast
A helicopter flying above a popular California shoreline suddenly started spinning uncontrollably, ultimately losing altitude and crashing into a row of palm trees as spectators looked on.
Recordings uploaded on the internet capture the aircraft beginning to twirl above the shoreline then descending in the direction of the edge of the beach, where it ends up lodged between palms and a staircase adjacent to the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Information
Emergency responders stated five persons were taken to hospital including two who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the incident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the pavement were hurt. Specifics on their condition were still under review.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
